The EV Experience Centre officially opened its doors Saturday the 24th, and more than 1,000 urban explorers came to discover a neighbourhood reborn. Check out the movie!
When the doors opened at 11 am Saturday, the Experience Centre filled up with curious Calgarians who’d heard about East Village by now and came to see what the fuss was all about for themselves. Check it out!
What they found was an 8,000 square foot space centred on the story of the neighbourhood, which was told through a big village model, touch screens that let you explore EV’s surroundings, and films explaining plans for St. Patrick’s Island and RiverWalk. On either side of the space, Embassy BOSA and FRAM+Slokker, the developers of the condominium projects FUSE and FIRST, have installed their showrooms, which reflect very different EV lifestyles.
In this short film, visitors and East Village Ambassadors (people charged with telling the East Village story) explain their impressions of the neighbourhood everyone’s talking about.
Take a look and then come see for yourself. The EV Experience Centre is open noon to 6 pm Monday to Thursday and 11 am to 5 pm Saturday and Sunday. Closed Fridays and holidays. We’re at 553 Riverfront Ave SE., just two blocks east of City Hall. See you there!
