In honour of Michael Green

Calgary mourns the tragic loss of visionary arts leader

It is with great sadness that the East Village community and the CMLC team mourns the loss of artistic icon Michael Green. We are proud to have worked with Michael over the years, his visionary leadership has helped shape the vision for East Village and will be an enduring legacy for years to come.

As co-founder and co-artistic director of One Yellow Rabbit, founder/curator of High Performance Rodeo arts festival, curator of Calgary 2012 and executive producer of the Making Treaty 7 project, his impact of Calgary's cultural identity is immeasurable.

In honour of his life, a number of downtown attractions will be lit yellow tonight as part of a collaborative, community-led tribute to Michael. RiverWalk and Langevin bridge in East Village will shine yellow along with the Calgary Tower, Stephen Avenue Galleria trees, Arts Commons, Chinook Arc, Glenbow Museum, Olympic Plaza and TELUS Spark.

Join us in remembering Michael, a truly great Calgarian.
