Block Party Comes to East Village

East Village has become the newest venue in the increasingly-epic Sled Island Festival that’s coming to more than 30 of the best places in town June 20 to 23. From Olympic Plaza to the Ironwood Stage to Theatre Junction GRAND – and now EV’s very own Simmon’s Building – the festival is spreading the indie music goodness of more than 300 artists far and wide.

The Simmons Building is festival headquarters from June 15 to June 23; it’s the place where festival-goers can pick up wristbands and programs. It’s also, perhaps even more importantly, the site of the East Village Block Party on Thursday June 21 starting at 4 pm.
The Block Party is a free event on RiverWalk Plaza in front of the Simmons. There’s live performances on a stage curated by the HiFi Club, a street-style skateboard competition hosted by Vans Shoe Company and The Source. YYC Food Trucks will provide tasty fuel and Market Collective will be in attendance so that you can rock the latest artisan couture. Here’s the just-announced lineup:
4:00 DJ Teddy Celebration
4:30 Pho (DJ from Bonjay)
5:15 Vinny Slappers
5:45 Smalltown DJs
6:45 Calamalka
7:30 Max Ulis
9:00 Flosstradamus
