Learn the fundamentals of oral storytelling performance, whether you're speaking to family or a paying audience. In this workshop you’ll explore story shape, characters, voice, gestures, rehearsing, flexibility in performance, props and much more.

No dragons or sharks – YOU get to be the judge at this Calgary Foundation event where up to $50,000 in grants will be given out . Watch groups pitch their ideas for improving their neighbourhoods and communities and decide which ones will share in the Neighbour Grants awarded at the end of the night.

Join Urban Ink Forager Jason Logan for an evening of conversation and a special three-course dinner, created in his honour by the chefs, bakers and pastry chefs at Sidewalk Citizen Bakery.
Logan and host Richard Brown will discuss the ways in which we can all become city builders and environmental advocates through engaging with ink.

Spice things up with a cooking lesson! Join Chef Marina for a fun, casual evening where you’ll learn to prepare a regional menu. These classes are fun and light-hearted with plenty of opportunity for hands-on learning.

This 4-week course is presented by The Brewer's Apprentice and instructed by Alberta Beer Festival's head judge, David Nuttall. Each class will cover a different topic, such as the histories of different beer styles, what makes a good brew, how beer is made and its many ingredients.
Approximately a dozen beers will be sampled each class, so you’ll see and taste the difference between each one. The final class will be a “field trip” to one of Calgary’s breweries, where you can watch the process first-hand.
