U of C Campfire Chats

Please join the University of Calgary and the Calgary Stampede as they present the second annual Campfire Chats in celebration of National Aboriginal Day.

Learn Indigenous perspectives of the cosmos through traditional storytelling with Rob Cardinal, former Research Associate in the Department of Geoscience and current Executive Director of the First Light Initiative. Wilton Goodstriker, Cultural and Spiritual Leader, Kainai First Nation, will share the mythology of "Blackfoot Skies" and the connection to Indigenous people's sense of place in the universe. Enjoy a dance performance by Savanna Sparvier, 2017 Calgary Stampede Indian Princess.

Pull up a blanket and mark the longest day of the year with a journey into Calgary's storied past. This event will take place rain or shine.
