Off-Country along Music Mile

It's Canadian Country Music Week! Celebrate here in East Village and along the rest of Music Mile with ‘Off-Country’, which features 50+ performances (mostly free) across 16 different venues!

East Village Purge ‘n’ Splurge

Join the East Village Neighbourhood Association on September 7th for a community-wide garage sale! Bring home a new treasure, donate to those in need, and/or rent a table ($10) to sell your gently used items. Popcorn will be available for sale ($2), with proceeds going toward the East Village Seniors’ Chow & Chatter program.

Full Body Crush Class at CrushCamp

CrushCamp has come to East Village! Their signature class format is 50 minutes of High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) designed to maximize your caloric burn by giving you a balanced, full-body strength and cardiovascular workout. No two workouts are ever the same, meaning no boredom, no burnout and no plateaus! Suitable for all fitness levels.

HIGH Fitness at the EV Experience Centre

Aerobics is back! Bigger, better, HIGHer! This class is first-come, first-served with a capacity of 30 participants. Bring good sneakers and a water bottle. HIGH Fitness will run on the deck of the EV Experience Centre on Mondays until September 16 (weather dependent).

It’s true, making really exceptional coffee takes time, commitment and training, but that doesn’t mean you can’t do it yourself at home! Explore three coffee brewing methods (french press, AeroPress and pour-over) at this class inside the historic Simmons Building. Learn about the effect of grind, dose and temperature on the taste of your brewed coffee.

The National Music Centre is pleased to offer extended hours and discounted rates for visitors to Studio Bell on September 10th. Grab your pal or partner and enjoy a special $10 admission per person from 5 pm to 8 pm.

Print(ed) Word: The Salon Series with Heather Huston and Doug Neilson

Print(ed) Word is a collection of 12 handmade artist books now on permanent display at Central Library. Join the authors and artists for a series of presentations on their writing, art, and the process of collaborating to make their book. On September 10, join artist Heather Huston and writer Doug Neilson as they discuss their artist book, Hymenoptera.
