Enmax:
Bright Lights,
Big Village

EV will be powered by a District Energy Centre, a heating system that’s significantly more efficient and environmentally friendly than traditional systems. Developers like it too, because it eliminates the need for boilers and auxiliary equipment in buildings, which is a savings boon. Ten million square feet of building space will eventually be heated by the District Energy Centre, which is now under construction at 9th Avenue and 4th Street SE. Honk as you drive by. The building, an Enmax/CMLC joint venture, will be finished in late 2009; the heat goes on in early 2010.

When will it be done, it is already 2010?

The City of Calgary Municipal Building switched from an aging conventional boiler system to the the Enmax District Heating Energy Centre in March 2010. The first phase of the Energy Centre's development can provide heating up to 10 million square feet of new or existing residential and commercial buildings!

the idea is great but those chimney's are ruining the skyline
