RiverWalk:
Place of Ease,
Place to Pause

RiverWalk is Calgary’s gift to itself: the green promenade will extend, when completed, from Chinatown all the way to Stampede, and in the process, it makes Calgary a riverfront city for the first time since its founding, connecting neighbourhoods and giving the banks of the Bow and the Elbow back to Calgarians. RiverWalk began coming to life in East Village in 2009 – the plantings, lighting and promenade already in place were a harbinger of things to come.

Current of Change
You’ll be able to spend an entire day on the RiverWalk – its four kilometres are designed to be both a journey and a destination. You’ll sit on its many benches, find places to eat, enjoy viewpoints, join celebrations on wide plazas and touch the clear, blue-green water from terraces leading down the riverbanks. Designated space for pedestrians and bikers, innovative native plantings, a variety of stones and woods and engaging rest areas help you savour your stroll as the RiverWalk unfolds the story of the city.

Conversations

In order to provide for all tax payers you MUST incorporate an off-leash park. Many use this space presently to allow their dogs to exercise!

All there people running and working out on the path is nice to see.
But they forgot to include all the bums having sex in the bushes and
harassing people for change.
