The first ever outdoor summer opera festival starts this week in EV
Great Seats Still Available!
With less than a week till the start of Opera in the Village, the 4-day festival coming to East Village August 22-25, there is still time left to grab a great pair o' tickets to The Pirates of Penzance.
Good seats are still available for all shows, so choose a date and be part of the music, laughter and love. There are nightly performances Thursday and Friday and two performances both Saturday and Sunday.
The big tent is being installed right now on RiverWalk, and excitement is building for the event, the first outdoor summer opera festival of its kind in Canada. Along with The Pirates of Penzance show, there'll be a picnic on the 25th, a singing competition - So You Think You can Sing Opera? - Arrrias in the Afternoon performed by talented alumni of Calgary Opera's Emerging Artist Program, an opera camp performance of Pirates by kids, and screenings of pirate-themed movies.
You've never seen East Village like this. So channel your best Johnny Depp - or Errol Flynn - and come down to RiverWalk to be part of the arghh. See you in the tent!
