Like all Albertans, after hearing harrowing tales and seeing haunting footage of the devastation caused by the wildfires in Northern parts of our province this week, the team at Calgary Municipal Land Corporation (CMLC) feels compelled to do something to lessen the burden our friends in Fort McMurray are experiencing. As a small gesture and an act of solidarity, our team will be collecting cash donations for the Red Cross at the St. Patrick’s Island Fun Run taking place this Saturday, May 7. We urge anyone who is participating in the Fun Run or other Calgarians passing through the park to stop by the SPI tent to make any financial contribution that suits their means. All donations collected that day will be matched by CMLC and donated to the Red Cross’ relief effort. The SPI tent will be set-up at The Rise on St. Patrick’s Island from 11am-1:30pm.
