First Festive Market: Shop like an Elf!
Santa, you don't want to miss this: on Saturday December 17 from 11am to 5pm, East Village hosts the first ever Elves in the Village Christmas Market. Come herald the season and pick up one-of-a-kind gifts that you’ll want to keep for yourself. Pack a donation to the food bank in your Santa sack and follow your wondering eyes to the Simmons Building* by the big shiny evergreen. You’ll be amazed by what will appear in and around our former mattress factory.
It’s a traditional Christmas market with a few futuristic twists. The YYC Food Trucks will be there, dishing out festive goodies. Musicians from the National Music Centre will fill the neighbourhood with jolly sounds. And yes, there will be robots.
Join your EV neighbours for a leisurely stroll along the sparkling RiverWalk pathway and enjoy the glow of the twinkling community Christmas tree. Come inside and try your hand at soldering at the make-your-own ornament station. Tour the art showcase or simply enjoy some hot chocolate and cookies.
Need a sock monkey? How about extraordinary hand-blown glass by Bee Kingdom? With over two dozen vendors, many of them also seen on Etsy, you’ll find everything from hand-drawn cards to retro collectibles, vintage jewelry to cream puffs.
So... on Dasher! And don’t forget the donation for the food bank, to make everyone's day merry and bright.
