Food For Thought

Sep 23 2012 12:00 pm
A celebration of local food, producers, chefs and people!

REAP Business Association is proud to host, with the support of Community Natural Foods, First Calgary Financial and Calgary Herald, a wonderful event celebrating local sustainable food and farmers!

Join consumers, producers, retailers and chefs in the East Village to enjoy bite sized samples from 20 stations and learn how to make more informed daily choices for greater enjoyment and improved health. Meet the farmer who grew the local, organic tomato alongside the independent chef who is sampling fresh gazpacho. Taste the local difference, and learn more about these businesses' commitment to sustainability.

Presentations by Jennifer Cockrall King (author of Food & The City) and Dee Hobsbawn-Smith (author of Foodshed) as well as live music. Local beer, organic wine and sodas available for purchase. No minors permitted.

Tickets are $25 and available online here

Event takes place from 12:00- 4:00 PM at the Simmons Building, located at 618 Confluence Way, SE.
