East Village Experience Centre – 553 Riverfront Ave SE
The Tweed Ride is a casual, ~10-15km ride around Calgary’s inner city, where participants are encouraged to dress in tweed or vintage on Victoria Day in May. The 4th ride took place on May 18th, 2015 and welcomed around 100 finely dressed participants.
In 2015, the Tweed Ride helped raise $1,250 that went to support the efforts of Bicycles for Humanity. Bicycles for Humanity sends used bikes to developing countries. Their work supports grassroots projects that improve access to healthcare, education, water, food and employment through the provision of sustainable transportation.
Meet early to complete registration and have high tea at the East Village Experience Center. The ride will depart at 3pm and finish up in Kensington for a wrap-up party at Oak Tree Tavern, where costume prizes for bikes and outfits, as well as raffle items will be announced.
Children 16 and under should be accompanied by a parent for the ride.
